background
All the player characters are lizardmen.
They grew up in the care of a creature named Quetzalcoatl, who rules a group of lizardmen tribes.
The characters were taken from birth from the various tribes, so they don't know which tribe they're from.
These elite lizardmen have become their own tribe and mark themselves by embedding two long silver horns into the back of their skulls.
In their time growing up, they once traveled north into the human lands to kidnap humans and bring them back to Quetzalcoatl.
They also traveled east to the saltwater swamp to trade with the Sahagin.
The trade never happened as the two groups started fighting and the Lizardmen killed all the Sahagin.
chapter 1
The older elite lizardmen have not returned from their last mission, so Quetzalcoatl sends the player characters out to look for them.
All they find are their bloody silver horns.
Unbeknownst to them, they had come across the lair of their killer, a full-grown black dragon.
The player characters best the dragon.
After they kill it, a strange creature appears: it's a large pig with feathery ethereal wings, lobster arms instead of front legs, and a round metal mesh (a speaker) instead of a mouth.
It proclaims that it's the enemy of Quetzalcoatl because he used to be a black dragon and aims to thwart all the player characters' efforts.
The strange creature leaves as mysteriously as it had appeared.
They skin the dragon for its valuable scales, take its treasure, and return to Quetzalcoatl.
They tell him what they witnessed.
Quetzalcoatl confesses it to be true.
He was once the most powerful dragon in existence.
But because of the interference by the otherworldly realm of Mechanus, the mortal realms are measured using their powerful machines.
As a dragon, his ability to produce acid had become so deadly that it had "rolled over" (much like how your odometer could eventually read all zeros again).
This meant Mechanus' divine machines caused his acid to become the most powerful healing magic possible.
Then, somehow, this transformed him into the humanoid demigod that he is today.
Quetzalcoatl proclaims that he is moving the tribes out of the dense bog and into the saltwater swamps near the ocean.
Because the player characters are all that's left of Quetzalcoatl's elite fighters, they will be responsible for leading the way and protecting the tribes as they travel.
chapter 2
Quetzalcoatl rides into camp on his unicorn, named Palace.
He calls them the vessals of his wisdom and bonds with them magically by making them consume aspects of himself: bone marrow, eye juice, blood, and brain.
After the ritual, their silver hords dig into their skulls, becoming permanent, and turn platinum.
He offers them two rituals: one that returns them to the swamp and the other, when performed in the swamp, summons him.
He declares that they must travel to visit someone.
[Players vote on whether he has a falling out with that person. Blind votes were worth double. One blind vote for falling out. That someone turned out to be Semuanya, players vote for falling out.]
They travel through the swamp to a large pyramid.
Quetzalcoatl stops them and continues on, but before he returns, men with Toucan heads and covered in black feathers fly down and attack them.
The player characters best the men, but not before a larger one appears and proclaims himself to be "Centeotl".
Centeotl picks up one of the lizardmen and carries him away.
The rest follow him until Centeotl drops him into the maws of a hydra.
They fight off the hydra and resucue their companion.
