Ashtown: races
Drow
Also called dark elves, the drow have black skin that resembles polished obsidian and stark white or pale yellow hair. They commonly have very pale eyes in shades of lilac, silver, pink, and blue. They also tend to be smaller and thinner than most elves.

The elves of Ashtown have a wicked sense of humor, finding most statements that involve intense pain or sudden death to be humorous. Even so, they are self-conscious of their race's nature and strive to be better than themselves. It's not uncommon for these drow to confess their murderous thoughts to each other, though sometimes such conversations are just small talk.
Duergar
The gray dwarves are an evil and bitter race, but retain the superior skill and workmanship of dwarvenkind. Male and female duergar are bald, and women do not grow beards. They are much thinner than other dwarves, with severe facial expressions, gray hair, and gray skin.

The dwarves of Ashtown are a strange lot. A few have reverted to the grumpy and bashful nature of the Duergar. Some have developed sicknesses, especially sneezing, so many others have been driven to study medicine. Other side effects manifest as mental derangements like sleepiness and loss of inhibition while others merely laugh and laugh often.
Earth Genasi
Earth Genasi are slow to act, ponderous in thought, and set in their ways. They are most often neutral. They appear mostly human, with one or two unusual traits reflecting their quasi-elemental nature, such as earthlike skin, rough facial features, or eyes like black pits. They favor neutral colors and simple clothing, and while some appear to inadvertently collect dirt on their clothes, others keep a neat and polished appearance.

The genasi of Ashtown are well aware of their role in the town's history and still see themselves as the peace keepers and defacto leaders. They are sensitive to the moral struggles of their neighbors and always go out of their way to befriend them.
